Hardin-Simmons senior Brendon Kelso (Jacksboro, TX / JHS) won the shot put title with a toss of 1.372 at the Tiger Twighlight in San Antonio, Texas. Kelso also placed third in the discus (39.51) and the javelin throw (51.25).
Ross Renfroe, Jr., Texas-Tyler
Texas-Tyler junior Ross Renfroe won the 1500-meter and broke a school record in the process with a 3:56.96 at the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco, Texas. Renfroe topped 39 competitors and broke the previous UT Tyler mark of 3:56.96 set by Ben Donnan in 2007.
