Brittanni Hanna, C, Jr., Texas-Tyler

Texas-Tyler junior catcher Brittanni Hanna (Mesquite, TX / North Mesquite HS) went 11-for-18 with a home run, two doubles and 11 RBIs to pace a 6-0 week that led to the Patriots claiming their first East Division title. Hanna also scored three runs and walked once. She has hit safely in nine of her last 10 games.

Stacy Shepherd, RHP, Jr., Texas-Tyler

Texas-Tyler junior right-hander Stacy Shepherd (Houston, TX / Cy-Fair HS) went 2-0 with two saves, allowing only four earned runs and striking out 15 batters over 21 1/3 innings of work to help fuel the Patriots to their first East Division title. Shepherd, who takes the division’s top weekly pitching award for the third time this season, improved to 17-0 on the year and became the first pitcher in program history to eclipse the 200-strikeout mark.

WEST DIVISION

Texas Lutheran freshman catcher Brittany Upton (Katy, TX / Cypress HS) went 8-for-12 with a triple, double and nine RBIs to pace a West Division series sweep of Sul Ross State. Upton also walked twice and scored three runs.

Megan Lewis, RHP, Jr., Hardin-Simmons

Hardin-Simmons junior right-hander Megan Lewis (Cypress, TX / Cypress Woods HS) went 1-1 with a save, striking out 20 and not allowing an earned run over 16 innings of work. Lewis, who takes the division’s top weekly pitching award for the third time this season, scattered eight hits – all singles – and walked just two batters. Her loss was a 1-0 duel with Schreiner’s Rebecca Hay.

HITTERS: Howard Payne 3B Rebecca McDaniel went had two homers and four RBIs over four games. . . . Concordia Texas OF Lauren Vansickle went 5-for-12 with a homer over four games. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor C Jordan Schrutka went 5-for-12 with three RBIs over four games. . . . Hardin-Simmons SS Amy Meyer went 6-for-14 and stole a base over four games. . . . Ozarks 3B Kelsey Mefford homered, doubled and drve in four runs over four games. . . . Mississippi College3B Morgan Gillwater had three doubles and five RBIs over six games.

PITCHERS: Concordia Texas RHP Kat Moreno defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor by tossing 8 2/3 innings of shutout ball. . . . Mary Hardin-Baylor RHP Erica White struck out 13 batters and allowed just three runs over 16 innings of work. . . . Howard Payne RHP Haleigh Caraway allowed just one earned run in 10 1/3 innings of work that spanned two appearances. . . . Texas Lutheran LHP Megan Carmichael went 2-0 and allowed only three earned runs over 14 innings of work against Sul Ross State. . . . East Texas Baptist RHP Ayrika Henderson did not allow an earned run over 12 innings of work, going 1-1 in the process. . . . Ozarks RHP Stephany Henson tossed a seven-inning shutout to beat Texas-Dallas. . . . Mississippi College RHP Kim Mason went 3-2 with a save, working 22 2.3 innings that spanned six appearances.
