RICHARDSON -- Seven players, including three first-teamers, from the American Southwest Conference were named All-Americans by D3baseball.com, it was announced on Wednesday.
Texas-Dallas senior third baseman Cody Ross, Sul Ross State junior shortstop Javier Arrieta and Mississippi College junior outfielder Bo Bell were named to the First Team. Ross batted .439 with 21 doubles, Arrieta hit .461 with 17 home runs and Bell hit .425 with 73 RBIs.
Texas Lutheran senior Jeremey Macklin landed on the Second Team at the utility spot. Macklin batted .456 with 67 RBIs and went 6-1 with a 1.99 ERA on the mound.
Texas-Dallas senior outfielder Jared Smith, Hardin-Simmons junior designated hitter Regan Dixon and Mississippi College senior pitcher Brett Hinson were third-team selections. Smith hit 23 home runs, Dixon went deep 16 times and Hinson was 10-2 with 105 strikeouts.
Mary Hardin-Baylor outfielder Joseph Villegas, Texas-Tyler pitcher Brett Holland and Texas Lutheran hurler Brad Orosey earned honorable mention.
