RICHARDSON, TX -- Five players, including first-teamer Regan Dixon of Hardin-Simmons, from the American Southwest Conference were named American Baseball Coaches Association 2009 Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Americans, it was announced last week.
Dixon, a junior, was tabbed the first team's designated hitter. He hit .354 with 16 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Sul Ross State junior shortstop Javier Arrieta was a second team selection along with Texas-Dallas' Cody Ross and Jared Smith. Arrieta batted .461 with 17 home runs. Ross, a senior third baseman, hit .439 with 21 doubles, while Smith, a senior outfielder, batted .369 with 23 homers.
Mississippi College senior right-hander Brett Hinson landed on the third team. He went 10-2 with 105 strikeouts.
All five players also earned All-American status from D3baseball.com
