SEGUIN, TX -- Texas Lutheran senior outfielder Ryan Nokelby became the American Southwest Conference's all-time hits leader with a two-RBI single in the fifth inning during the Bulldogs' opening-round ASC tournament game against Mississippi College at Katt-Isbell Field on Friday.

Nokelby (Santa Fe, TX / SFHS) now stands at 268 career hits. He overtook the ASC crown from Mary Hardin-Baylor senior outfielder Joseph Villegas, who broke the record last month set by McMurry's Albert Carrizales from 2003-06. Villegas' collegiate career is now over, while Nokelby is guaranteed at least two more games at the ASC tournament.
