ASC Men's Basketball Championship Central
RICHARDSON, Texas – The American Southwest Conference Championship will start Thursday, February 21 in Richardson, Texas on the campus of University of Texas at Dallas.
The 2018 tournament is the 21st postseason event in league history dating back to 1999. The winner of the Championship earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, which is announced on Monday, February 25 at 11:30 a.m. on NCAA.com.
The tournament will tip off at Noon on Thursday, February 22, as (E2) LeTourneau takes on (W3) Hardin-Simmons, followed by (W1) Mary Hardin-Baylor facing (E4) East Texas Baptist at 2:30 p.m. In the evening, (E3) Louisiana College will face (W2) Concordia Texas at 5:00 p.m. and (E1) UT Dallas will play the late game at 7:30 p.m. against (W4) McMurry.
The ASC Championship semifinals will be played Friday, February 23. Game five will tip at 5:00 p.m. and game six is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time. The championship game will start at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24.

Admission prices each day will be $10 for adults and $5 for students daily. Tickets are available at the UTD Activity Center on the day of game for purchase by cash only. The ASC complimentary pass list is not accepted for the Championship. Doors will open one hour before the first game each day.
2019 ASC Championship Tournament Teams
East Division
No. 1 UT Dallas (21-4, 13- ASC) – UT Dallas makes its 16th consecutive tournament appearance and has won three ASC championships (2005, 2009, 2014). The Comets have a 16-12 tournament record and share honors with Mary Hardin-Baylor for the longest current active streak, each with 16 consecutive conference tournament appearances. Junior guard
Dimitrius Underwood leads the league in rebounding (9.8) and steals (2.5) per game and is third in scoring (21.2). Junior center
Hans Burwitz averages 15.6 points and 7.1 boards per contest and shoots 60.9 percent.
No. 2 LeTourneau (17-8, 11-5 ASC) – LeTourneau is making its fourth consecutive trip to the tournament and seventh overall with a 3-6 record in the championship. The YellowJackets are led by the league’s leading scorer, junior guard
Nate West with 24.1 points per game. West makes 4.1 three-pointers per contest and is fourth in the ASC with 4.4 assists. Senior forward
Caleb Loggins is the top shot blocker in the conference at 2.4 per contest to go with 16.4 points and 7.5 rebounds.
No. 3 Louisiana College (19-6, 11-5 ASC) – The Wildcats are making their first appearance in the postseason since 2016 and sixth overall. LC sports a 3-5 record in the ASC Championship. Senior center
Devon Washington ranks second in the ASC at 8.1 rebounds per game and scores 16.0 points with a 63.3 field goal percentage. Junior guard
Kae’ron Baker leads the league with an 88.2 free throw percentage and averages 15.0 points. Senior forward
Travis Schultz is the conference’s top three-point shooter at 53.3 percent.
No. 4 East Texas Baptist (12-13, 8-8 ASC) – East Texas Baptist makes its sixth consecutive tournament appearance and 13th overall. The Tigers are 7-11 in tournament play and are coming off a runner-up finish in 2018. Junior guard
Robby Dooley leads the Tigers with 19.9 points per contest, ranking fifth in the ASC. Sophomore forward
Christopher Haynes has a 66.9 field goal percentage which is tops in the league.
West Division
No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor (20-5, 11-5 ASC) – Mary Hardin-Baylor leads the ASC with 19 tournament appearances and has claimed two ASC crowns (2008, 2010). The Cru has a 14-17 tournament record and share honors with UT Dallas for the longest current active streak, each with 16 consecutive appearances. Sophomore guard
Sam Moore ranks fourth in the conference with 20.1 points per game and pulls down 7.0 rebounds. Senior forward
Brian Long is second with a 62.5 field goal percentage and averages 18.0 points per contest.
No. 2 Concordia Texas (12-13, 10-6 ASC) – Concordia Texas makes its seventh straight tournament appearance and 12th overall. Concordia Texas won the ASC title in 2013, is a two-time runner-up and has an 8-10 record in the conference tournament. The Tornados are led by senior guard
Joe Neal with 22.9 points per game, which ranks second in the league, to go with 3.7 assists per game. Junior guard
Ronnie Hamilton is fourth in the ASC at 4.3 assists per contest.
No. 3 Hardin-Simmons (15-10, 10-6 ASC) – Hardin-Simmons returns to the tournament after winning the Championship in 2016 and 2017 and missing the field in 2018. This is the 12th trip for the Cowboys, who sport a 17-8 mark. Senior guard
Joe Hoeup leads HSU with 16. 4 points per game, while junior guard
Chris Barrett is first in the ASC in assists with 4.6.
No. 4 McMurry (10-15, 17-9 ASC) – McMurry is making its first trip to the tournament since 2012. The War Hawks have won the title in 2000, 2001, 2011 and 2012 and are making their 13th total appearance with a 15-8 record. Junior forward
Mike Williams Jr. averages 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, which ranks third in the conference. Junior guard
Zacc Carter comes in with 13.1 points per contest.
