Hardin-Simmons senior guard Alexis Popelar (Longview, Texas / Pine Tree HS) had a double double of 30 points and 10 rebounds to fuel an 85-73 conference home win over Mississippi College. Popelar, who takes the division’s top weekly award for the third time this season, shot 53.3 percent from the floor and added two assists, one steals and one block. She hit 13 of 14 free-throw attempts. It was the second time this season that Popelar has scored at least 30 points.
