Pineville, LA --- Louisiana College President, Dr. Joe Aguillard, officially announced on November 10 that Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach, Tim Whitman, has resigned. Whitman expressed personal reasons for resigning. The resignation was effective on Tuesday, November 9th.
“I have accepted the resignation of Tim Whitman,” Aguillard said. “As an institution we are committed to providing excellence in academics and athletics and we will continue to do that in filling these positions.”
The current Assistant Athletic Director, Donnie Broussard, will work with Dr. Aguillard until a new Athletic Director is hired. And the current Assistant Softball Coaches will continue on in their roles and work together until a new Head Softball Coach is named.
Whitman went 320-73 in nine years as softball head coach at LC with three American Southwest Conference titles (2005, 2008, 2010) and the first NCAA Division III National Finals apperance in conference history, finishing third in 2008.
