Singleton, Ellis Selected as Women's Hoops Players of the Week

EAST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEKTaylor Singleton, Jr., G, East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist junior guard Taylor Singleton (Friendswood, Texas) helped the Tigers move to 12-0 on the season with during a balanced scoring and defensive effort. In a 47-44 win at UT Dallas, she scored eight points with five rebounds and four big steals. Singleton followed with nine points and seven boards in a 77-52 victory at Ozarks. For the week, Singleton averaged 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals for her second career Player of the Week honors.
 
WEST DIVISION PLAYER OF THE WEEKKaitlyn Ellis, Sr., C, Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior center Kaitlyn Ellis (Breckenridge, Texas) had 15 points and a career-high 15 rebounds as the Cowgirls won 60-50 at Sul Ross State. She also added two assists, two steals and a block while shooting 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from the field.

EAST DIVISION
UT Dallas senior guard Raenett Hughes (College Station, Texas) averaged 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as the Comets split a pair of ASC East home games last week. Hughes tallied a game-high 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting Thursday in a narrow loss to unbeaten East Texas Baptist. She added six rebounds and a pair of assists in the defeat. Hughes then poured in 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her third 'double-double' of the season Saturday in a 62-51 win over LeTourneau. She added five steals and three assists in the victory.
 
Ozarks junior guard Janna Rhinehart (Danville, Ark.) came off the bench against LeTourneau and scored 16 points. In the Eagles’ two losses, she averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

LeTourneau junior forward Ajanae Thomas (Detroit, Mich.) averaged 24.5 points and 7.0 rebounds as the YellowJackets went 1-1 on the road. She netted 31 points with six rebounds, going 16-of-19 at the free throw line, in a 78-69 win at Ozarks. Thomas followed with 18 points and eight boards in a loss at UT Dallas.
 
WEST DIVISION
Mary Hardin-Baylor junior center Allaira Jones (Gatesville, Texas) led the Cru’s balanced scoring effort in a 75-73 win over Belhaven. She had 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Jones was perfect from the line and shot 40 percent from the field in the victory.
 
McMurry sophomore forward Destiny Mathews (Palestine, Texas) recorded 11 points, five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals in a loss at Sul Ross State.

Sul Ross State sophomore guard Teresa Quintana (El Paso, Texas) finisehd with 15 points and five rebounds in the Lobos' 64-52 victory over McMurry. For the week, she averaged 12.0 points per game.
