MARSHALL, Texas –
McMurry won the 2022 American Southwest Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship, posting back-to-back titles for the first time in school history and a third conference championship in program history, at Marshall City Arena on Saturday, October 29.
The War Hawks scored 34 points, placing four runners in the top eight and three in the top five. McMurry matched an ASC Championship record of largest winning margin 45 points set 20 years earlier (2002, Texas Lutheran, 22-67).
Mary Hardin-Baylor placed second with 79 points, followed by
East Texas Baptist (89) and
UT Dallas (90).
Hardin-Simmons junior
Kylah Holland captured the individual medalist with a 6K time of 22:31.0 (6.02/mi), and was over a minute faster than the runner-up result.
