United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thirteen student-athletes from the American Southwest Conference were selected to the United Soccer Coaches Women’s Soccer All-Region X Teams. Mary Hardin-Baylor senior defender
Kristen Burdick highlighted the league selections with a Third Team All-America and First Team All-Region. She was the ASC Defensive Player of the Year
UMHB, who won the American Southwest Conference Championship, and Hardin-Simmons shared the most USC All-Region recipients with four each. Burdick, senior forward
Maria Rico, and senior midfielder
Shay Taylor formed a trio from the Cru that were First Team All-Region. Junior midfielder
Kelsey White rounded out the UMHB selections with a nod on the Second Team. Burdick, Rico, and Taylor earned their second consecutive USC All-Region selections.
Hardin-Simmons senior forward
Randie Dennison was the fourth conference student-athlete to be on the First Team. The Cowgirls had a trio named on the Second Team, which accounted for half of the conference selections. senior defender
Jenna Kirk, junior defender
Kaylee Maddox, and freshman defender
Kalea Willis. Kirk and Willis grabbed 2022 ASC Individual awards with Midfielder of the Year and Defensive Freshman of the Year, respectively.
UT Dallas junior defender
Peyton Guidry and freshman midfielder
Janae Shaklee gave the Comets multiple student-athlete selections with Guidry on Second Team and Shaklee on Third Team.
Concordia Texas junior forward
Kallie Krenz was the team’s lone selection on the Second Team. Krenz was named ASC Offensive Player of the Year.
McMurry had sophomore forward
Emily Holland named to the Third Team. East Texas Baptist senior midfielder
Amy Pineda completed the three All-Region conference student-athletes on the Third Team.
McMurry also had senior defender
Kate Holland was a Player of Distinction honoree.
Mary Hardin-Baylor Head Coach
Barry Elkins and Graduate Assistant
Charis Hill were also named Region X Coaching Staff of the Year. The duo was also named ASC Coaching Staff of the Year and helped the Cru notch a record season with a 17-1-1 record and program's first regular season and ASC title.
