NEW YORK CITY, New York – Hardin-Simmons women’s soccer team closed their season in the NCAA DIII Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament First Round after a 1-0 loss to McDaniel College in the second overtime on Saturday, November 16 in New York City.
The contest remained scoreless through the first half. Each team recorded five first half shots in the frame. Jenna Russell had three crucial saves in the second half to hold McDaniel scoreless through regular time.
The Cowgirls defense did not allow a shot in the first overtime as HSU recorded three. The Cowgirls continued to lead in shots through the second overtime, but in the 110
th minute McDaniel’s Madyson Hill scored a golden goal for the 1-0 win.
Hardin-Simmons finished their 2024 campaign as the American Southwest Conference Champions and closed with a 17-2-2 overall record.
