DALLAS – Voting by American Southwest Conference head coaches resulted in East Texas Baptist junior outside hitter
Graycee Mosley being tabbed Most Valuable Player of the Year to headline the 2024 ASC volleyball awards and all-conference teams.
Mosley wins MVP for her third consecutive year as a junior East Texas Baptist. She was also the 2022 ASC Freshman of the Year. This season she was the league leader in kills with 4.6 per set and 493 total in 108 sets. Mosley also added 39 service aces and 399 digs, totaling 550.5 total points on the season. Mosley led the Tigers to an undefeated conference record, a Regular Season Champion title and an ASC Championship.
East Texas Baptist setter
Lexi Moody was named Setter of the Year. Moody totaled 598 assists this season, averaging 5.59 a set. She added 29 service aces, 172 digs and six blocks. Moody helped lead the Tigers to 13 sweeps this season.
LeTourneau senior libero
Morgan Nix earned Libero of the Year for the third consecutive season. Nix easily led the ASC in digs per set with a 6.42 a set and 758 total digs. Those numbers put her third in the nation for number of digs and fifth in the nation for her average.
Howard Payne outside hitter
Tara Bennett was named Freshman of the Year. Bennett ranked third in the conference for kills per set, averaging 3.13. She has recorded a total of 300 kills with a .247 hitting percentage. Bennett also added 23 blocks and 261 digs in the 2024 campaign.
East Texas Baptist libero
Callie Humphrey was tabbed Newcomer of the Year. Humphrey is second in the conference with 516 digs, averaging 4.78 a set. She recorded 27 service aces and 99 assists.
Howard Payne senior outside hitter
Brylee Awbrey was voted Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
East Texas Baptist received Coaching Staff of the Year led by
Mallory Matthews. Matthews and assistant Allison Kuster guided the Tigers to an overall record of 28-1 with an 8-0 conference record, falling to just No. 8 Trinity in the regular season. ETBU has ranked in the top 15 nationally for the majority of the season.
Eighteen players that were selected to ASC All-Conference teams have been selected multiple times.
