MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Frank Douglas, So., UT Dallas
UT Dallas sophomore
Frank Douglas (Rockwall, Texas) broke the program's 5,000-meter record in the Comets' season-opening meet Saturday morning. Douglas finished 26th overall with a time of 15:39.8, breaking Jorge Bormeo's mark set in 2005 by 19.1 seconds at the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational at Lynn Creek Park.
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Kylah Holland, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior
Kylah Holland (Clyde, Texas) ran a 19:48 5K to finish second at the UT-Tyler XC Opener. Holland lost only to a Division I runner who recorded a sub 19-minute mark.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
East Texas Baptist sophomore
Danna Requena (Kilgore, Texas) was 14th of 86 runners and the second NCAA Division III runner to cross the line behind runners from NCAA Division II Harding, UT Tyler and NCAA Division I SFA and Alcorn State.
East Texas Baptist senior
Noah Mink (Angleton, Texas) came in 30th as ETBU's top runner and the third NCAA Division III runner to cross the line. His time of 22:49 was less than a minute off the top 20.
Hardin-Simmons freshman
Aiden Seekins (Abilene, Texas) led the Cowboys at the Ut-Tyler XC Opener running a 22:33 four-mile race, placing 27
th.
