MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Andrae Gibson, Sr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist senior
Andrae Gibson (McKinney, Texas) ran in two events finishing in the top 10 and won the 400-meter dash. He was first out of 22 runners winning by 0.22 over Harding University's runner. He was then 10th in the 200-meter dash out of 34 participants.
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Cooper Mosier, So., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist sophomore
Cooper Mosier (Anna, Texas) finished third in the javelin out of 30 participants at NCAA Division II meet coming in ahead of NCAA DII, DIII, and NAIA participants. He picked up third place on his fifth throw. He also was 19th in the shot put.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Phoebe Dunham, Jr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist junior
Phoebe Dunham (Prairieville, LA) came in second place in the 3000-meter steeple chase out of seven runners. She ran an 11:39.28 finishing in front of NCAA DI, DII, and NAIA participants.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Chisom Mbah, Jr., UT Dallas
UT Dallas junior
Chisom Mbah (Frisco, Texas) placed ninth in the shot put at the Bill Schmidt Invite at UNT Saturday. Her toss of 11.09 meters (36 ft.-4.75 in.) was the best in the ASC this season.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
UT Dallas freshman
Nicholas Holland (Rockwall, Texas) posted the second-best 1,500-meter time in the ASC at the Bill Schmidt Invite at UNT Saturday. He finished 16th out of 58 runners with a time of 4:13.29.
East Texas Baptist senior
Shakayla Browder (Campti, LA) competed in two events with one top 10 finish in the discus. She threw 109'5" in the discus for 7th place out of 29 participants. That throw came on her first throw of day. She was then 14th in the shot put.
UT Dallas sophomore
Ellie Suo-Anttila (Albuquerque, NM) recorded the top 1,500-meter time in the conference this season, placing seventh out of 40 at the Bill Schmidt Invite in Denton, Texas. She recorded a time of 5:07.79, shaving 9.5 seconds off her personal best.
