2025 Championship Central
MARSHALL, Texas – Three games were completed in the second day of the 2025 American Southwest Conference Softball Championship on the campus of East Texas Baptist. LeTourneau edged Mary Hardin-Baylor in the opening contest to advance. East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau earned wins in the last two games of the day to move on to the ASC Championship.
The Tigers and YellowJackets will face in the ASC Championship game on Saturday, May 10
th at 2:00 PM in Marshall.
LETU 2, UMHB 1 | Box Score
Mary Hardin-Baylor was first on the board in the bottom of the third with an RBI single. The contest continued scoreless until the top of the final inning. LeTourneau tied the game, scoring on an error at home. The YellowJackets then recorded the winning run with an RBI single to left field.

Laney Taylor earned the win for LeTourneau, pitching 7.0 innings with one run on four hits. Chloee Miller took the loss for Mary Hardin-Baylor, throwing 6.0 innings with one earned run on six hits with three strikeouts.

Maddie Smith led with two hits and an RBI while four YellowJackets each added a hit.
ETBU 7, HSU 4 | Box Score
East Texas Baptist opened the contest with a two-run homer in the first inning, but Hardin-Simmons quickly responded with a four-run top of the second to take the lead. The Tigers cut the gap to one in the bottom of the third with an RBI double before knotting it up 4-4 in the fourth with an RBI single. The Tigers reclaimed the lead with two runs in the fifth and added one more insurance run in the sixth.

Mallory Pyle and Mary Frances Ellis led the Tigers with two hits each while Pyle and Cummings led with two RBI. Emily Jacobs led the Cowgirls with a hit and two RBI.
LETU 8, HSU 4 | Box Score
LeTourneau took an early 4-0 lead before Hardin-Simmons cut the margin to two in the bottom of the third. The YellowJackets responded with a grand slam to increase their lead, 8-2. The Cowgirls added two more runs but could not overcome the deficit.
