DALLAS, Texas – Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin-Baylor ranked top ten in the 2025 American Football Coaches Association D3 Coaches Preseason Poll.
Hardin-Simmons ranked 6
th in the poll with 975 points after going 10-1 during their 2024 campaign. The Cowboys went undefeated in the regular season with a 10-0 record as they also earned the American Southwest Conference Title. Hardin-Simmons earned a first-round bye in the NCAA playoffs before falling in the second round.
Mary Hardin-Baylor open the 2025 season ranked 8
th with 861 points. The Cru closed their 2024 season with an 8-4 record in the NCAA Quarterfinals. UMHB earned a win over Trinity in round one before claiming a second-round win against Hardin-Simmons. The Cru took a third-round victory over Linfield before falling to Johns Hopkins in the quarterfinal.
The 2025 season kicks off on Saturday, September 6
th as the Cowboys take on Chapman in Orange, California while the Cru host Bethel (Tenn.) in Belton.
