DALLAS, Texas – East Texas Baptist University headlined the coaches/sports information directors’ preseason poll as repeat favorites for the 2025 American Southwest Conference volleyball title, announced Tuesday.
The Tigers notched a 29-2 overall record with an 8-0 conference record to finish as Regular Season Champions. The Tigers claimed their second consecutive ASC title and earned a first-round sweep in the NCAA Championship Tournament before falling to Christoper Newport in the second round. ETBU tallied 32 points with all eight first-place votes.
Mary Hardin-Baylor enters the preseason poll in second place with 19 points. The Cru logged a 22-8 record with a 4-4 conference record in 2024. Hardin-Simmons comes in third place with 18 points. The Cowgirls posted a 14-11 overall with a 4-4 conference mark last season. Howard Payne ranked fourth with 11 points. The Yellow Jackets held an overall record of 13-13 in the 2024 campaign.
Eight volleyball players were tabbed by coaches on the 2025 ASC Volleyball Players to Watch List. This group includes: 2024 ASC Most Valuable Player Graycee Mosley (ETBU) and 2024 Freshman of the Year Tara Bennett (HPU).
Season play begins on August 29 for these teams.
