DALLAS, Texas – Three Hardin-Simmons University Football Student-Athletes were named to the D3football.com Preseason All-America Teams, released Monday.

Hayden Philpot, a senior center from Decatur, was selected First Team Offense. Kaiden Roden, a junior linebacker from Quinlan, was selected Second Team Defense. Bode Walters, a senior guard from Marion, was selected Third Team Offense.

Philpot and Walters helped guide the Cowboy offense to average 42.18 points a game with 234 total first downs. The Cowboys offense recorded an average of 175 rushing yards per game and 62 touchdowns in the 2024 campaign. Roden led the Hardin-Simmons defense with 98 total tackles including 43 solo and 13 tackles for loss. He also added four sacks, four quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

The 2025 ASC football season will kickoff on Thursday, September 4^th as Howard Payne takes on Pacific (Ore.). Saturday, September 6^th will feature a trio of games. UMHB hosts Bethel University (Tenn.), Hardin-Simmons travels to California to face Chapman and East Texas Baptist hosts Lyon.
