OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Graycee Mosley, OH, Sr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist senior outside hitter
Graycee Mosley (Troy, Texas) totaled 26 kills as the Tigers earned a pair of ASC wins this week. Against Hardin-Simmons, Mosley hit her 70th career double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs leading the team in both categories. She had 14 points in three sets with a 0.308 hitting percentage. In the win over Howard Payne, she hit her 71st career double-double playing three sets with 13 kills on one error for a 0.440 percentage and 13 digs.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jadyn Hernandez, MB, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons junior middle blocker
Jadyn Hernandez (Abilene, Texas) had the block party on for Hardin-Simmons in two ASC matches, finishing with 18 blocks in seven sets for a 2.57 blocks a set average in matches against No. 2 ETBU and UMHB. The Cowgirls dropped the first game 3-0 to top-ranked ETBU and Hernandez had one solo and five block assists for six total blocks. She combined for 12 blocks with one solo in the 3-1 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, averaging 3.0 blocks a set in the four-set match. Hernandez currently leads the conference with 1.33 blocks a set.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Offensive
Howard Payne freshman opposite hitter
Carli Briese (Huffman, Texas) helped lead the way against UMHB in a tough 5 set match. She was our go-to-player down the stretch and added three block assists. Briese recorded 16 kills at a .300 hitting percentage against UMHB, five kills against No. 2 ETBU and seven kills in the sweep over Huston-Tillotson.
Hardin-Simmons graduate student right side hitter
Abbi Allen (Coleman, Texas) had the most kills of any Cowgirl through two games in American Southwest Conference play last weekend in Abilene. Allen hit 18 total kills, with six against No. 2 ETBU in the loss and 12 kills against UMHB in the win. She averaged 2.57 kills a set and only hit five attack errors in 48 total attacks in the two games for a .271 hitting percentage. She added ten block assists in seven sets on the weekend, averaging 1.43 blocks a set.
Defensive
East Texas Baptist senior defensive specialist
Callie Humphrey (Haslet, Texas) helped her team shut out their 11th game of the season this week going 3-0 in both matches this season. She had 13 digs against HPU with seven assists and 11 digs against HSU with five assists.
