Hardin-Simmons’ Harrison Foster Named NFF National Scholar-Athlete, Campbell Trophy Finalist

Irving, Texas – Hardin-Simmons football safety Harrison Foster has been named a finalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy and a member of the National Football Foundation’s (NFF) National Scholar-Athlete Class.

Foster is one of 18 finalists selected from a record 206 semifinalists nationwide and the only NCAA Division III player to earn the distinction. Each finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship and be honored at the 68th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas, where the Campbell Trophy winner will be announced.

Foster has distinguished himself across the American Southwest Conference through his academic, athletic and leadership achievements. He was named the 2025–26 ASC Man of the Year and received the conference’s 2025 Distinguished Scholar-Athlete Award. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in finance, recording a 3.91 GPA, and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA).

On the field, Foster earned Associated Press Second Team All-America honors in 2025 and D3football.com First Team All-Region recognition. He is also a two-time ASC First Team All-Conference selection and has helped Hardin-Simmons capture consecutive conference championships and earn NCAA Division III playoff appearances.

Beyond competition and the classroom, Foster has contributed to his community through Special Olympics of West Texas, local elementary school reading initiatives and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The William V. Campbell Trophy recognizes college football’s top scholar-athlete for achievement in academics, athletics and leadership. Foster’s selection places him among the nation’s leading student-athletes and represents a significant honor for Hardin-Simmons and the American Southwest Conference.
