HITTER OF THE WEEK – Nolan Williams, So., OF, Mary Hardin-Baylor
Nolan Williams went 9-for-17 in a 3-0 week for the Cru, posting a .538 batting average. In a 17-3 win over North Central (Ill.), Williams went 5-for-6 at the plate, hitting two home runs and driving in five RBI. On the week, he totaled seven runs, seven hits, six RBI, and three home runs.
Defensively, Williams recorded seven putouts with a .875 fielding percentage. The Cru are 12-5 on the season and will face Schreiner on Tuesday, March 10.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Caleb Reynolds, Sr., P, Hardin-Simmons
Caleb Reynolds broke the Hardin-Simmons single-game strikeout record with 17 strikeouts in a 7-0 win over Southwestern (Tex.). Reynolds pitched 8.1 innings, allowing just eight hits and one walk. In 33 batters faced, Southwestern hitters batted .250 and were held scoreless.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
HITTERS
Kaden Wharton batted .667 in a 2-1 week for East Texas Baptist, posting six RBI and four runs for the Tigers. In a 10-7 win over Pacific (Ore.), he hit a 2-RBI single in the 8th inning to tie the game at 7 and force extra innings.
PITCHERS
Aiden Leonard of East Texas Baptist earned the win pitching the final four innings in the 10-7 win over Pacific, striking out six batters while allowing no hits or runs.
Alex Hill pitched 6.0 innings for Mary Hardin-Baylor, striking out seven and helping the Cru to a 17-3 win over North Central. He held opposing hitters to a .292 batting average
