Livesay and Hill Headline 2026 ASC Baseball Awards

New Braunfels, Texas – Carson Livesay and Alex Hill headline this year’s awards as the 2026 ASC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Year, announced Wednesday following a vote by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Carson Livesay has been named the 2026 ASC Baseball Player of the Year following a stellar senior season for the Tigers. Livesay led the conference in runs with 53 and ranked among the top five in RBI. He started every conference game for East Texas Baptist, finishing conference play with a .438 batting average.

Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Alex Hill headlines the awards as this year’s Pitcher of the Year. Hill recorded 82 strikeouts and led the conference in opponent batting average, holding hitters to just .206. He posted a 3.97 ERA and finished the season with a 6-3 record.

East Texas Baptist’s Isaac Thornton earned Newcomer of the Year honors after compiling a 7-2 record. Thornton led the Tigers with 71.2 innings pitched, striking out 83 batters while limiting opponents to a .221 batting average.

Carter Nannini turned in an outstanding season at the plate, hitting .418 – best on the team and third in the conference. He totaled 23 runs, 41 hits, and posted a 1.096 OPS across 98 at-bats.

Hardin-Simmons senior Brock Calvillo was named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.

East Texas Baptist and Hardin-Simmons shared Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

East Texas Baptist, led by head coach Jared Hood, completed an undefeated conference season and earned regional and national rankings. The Tigers secured the right to host the 2026 American Southwest Conference Championship in Marshall, capturing both the regular-season and tournament titles to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Hood’s staff—Tanner Matthews (Associate Head Coach), Conner Anderson (Assistant Coach), Ethan Wood (Head Developmental Coach), and Cass Flores (Graduate Assistant)—guided the Tigers to a 33-10 overall record.

In his second season, Hardin-Simmons head coach Mitch Wilson led the Cowboys to a No. 2 seed and contention for the ASC title. HSU finished 26-16 overall, doubling its win total from the previous season and recording its highest win total since 2016. Wilson’s staff—Andrew Loudermilk (Assistant Coach), Austin Vaught (Assistant Coach), Quincy McGraw (Undergraduate Assistant), and Layden White (Undergraduate Assistant)—also saw 13 players earn all-conference honors.
