OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Connor Parker, F, Fr., Howard Payne
Connor Parker and the Yellow Jackets traveled to Pennsylvania, earning wins over Penn St.-Berks and Penn St. Brandywine. Parker’s offensive performance in the opening match was highlighted by an assist in the 3-1 victory. Against Penn St. Brandywine, Parker recorded a brace and added another assist, finishing as the match’s overall points leader with five in the 6-0 victory.

The six-goal performance marked just the fourth time in program history the Yellow Jackets have scored six goals in a match and the first since 2017, when they defeated Louisiana College.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Josh Montanez, D, So., Howard Payne
Josh Montanez and the Howard Payne defense allowed just one goal across their two wins in Pennsylvania. Montanez and his centerback pairing helped limit Penn St. Brandywine to just four shots on goal in the Yellow Jackets’ 6-0 victory.

OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES

Offensive
Braxton Ladwig scored two goals, including the game-winning goal against Concordia (Texas), as East Texas Baptist finished the week 2-0 and opened the season 4-0 for the first time since 2000. Ladwig finished the week with a .667 shots-on-goal percentage while playing 102 minutes.

Defensive
Jacob Wenzel and the East Texas Baptist defense held Concordia (Texas) to seven shots on goal in a 3-2 victory before limiting Belhaven to four shots on goal in a 3-1 win. The senior defender also scored against Belhaven, giving ETBU a 2-0 lead in the 41st minute.
