OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Grayson Bowler, F, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Grayson Bowler led the Cru to a 2-0 week, recording two goals and one assist in wins over Concordia University Texas and Centenary (La.). Both of Bowler’s goals came against Concordia (Texas), including the game-winner. He finished the week with nine shots, four on goal, in 101 minutes played.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | Ryan Lord, GK, Jr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist goalkeeper Ryan Lord helped the Tigers to a 2-0 start, recording 18 saves and a .947 save percentage. Against Centenary (La.), Lord recorded a shutout with four saves on four shots on goal. The junior then posted a career-high 14 saves in a 3-1 win over Austin College, including a penalty-kick stop in the 88th minute and another save in the 89th minute to secure the Tigers’ victory.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Offensive
East Texas Baptist’s Braxton Ladwig recorded two goals and one assist to help the Tigers to a 2-0 week. Ladwig scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Austin College, converting both of his shots into goals in just 31 minutes of play. Against Southwestern, he added an assist in the 67th minute to break a 1-1 tie and help ETBU secure the victory.
Defensive
Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Rhett Rapuzzi helped lead the Cru defense to a 2-0 week, allowing just one goal across wins over Concordia (Texas) and Centenary (La.). Mary Hardin-Baylor limited opponents to nine total shots against Concordia and seven against Centenary. Rapuzzi played more than 60 minutes against Concordia and more than 75 minutes against Centenary, helping the Cru secure both victories.
