ASC announces baseball
post-season awards
All-Conference, All-Division, individual honors selected
RICHARDSON, Texas -- The American Southwest Conference named 12 baseball players to its All-Conference team today following a vote taken by the baseball coaches. Five of the 11 baseball playing institutions are represented on the All-Conference team. Sul Ross State, the 1999 ASC Champion, places five players on the All-Conference team. Three players represent Howard Payne, and University of Dallas and McMurry each have two. Mississippi College is represented by one player.
With the American Southwest Conference realigning into an East and West Division, the conference has named first and second teams in each division along with honorable mention. From the first teams in each division, the coaches have named a single combined all conference team. Players were named First-Team All-Division, Second-Team All-Division and anyone else receiving points was named Honorable Mention. To round out the post season awards, a Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year have been selected in each division.
