Jack Peel
Men's Soccer Coach
Jack Peel came to the University of Texas at Dallas from
Baylor University where he spent the past two years as the
assistant women's soccer coach. He helped establish a new program
there, finishing thrid in the Big 12 Conference both years and
compiling a record of 33-9-2.
He has 11 years of high school coaching experience with the most recent being five years at Newman Smith in Carrollton, Texas, from 1991-1996. During his tenure there, the girls' team made it to the state playoffs four out of five years, won two district championships and produced an overall record of 80-25-14. In 1992, he led his team to the state finals ending with a 22-2-1 record and a national ranking of 15 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American.
Peel currently holds a USSF "A" coaching license. He is a mmeber of the North Texas State Soccer Association coaching staff and has been involved in the Olympic Development Program in both Texas and Oklahoma. He has 12 years coaching experience in the Dallas Classic League, coaching the Texas Longhorns and Comets soccer clubs. Peel's classic league youth coaching accomplishments include a state cup championship, Dallas Cup semifinals and several league championships. He also helped coach the Sting U-20 women's team to national runner-up in Phoenix this summer.
In 1977, Jack got his start in coaching at the collegiate level where he first served as an assistant coach at Midwestern State University for two years. During his time as an assistant coach, the team reached the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in the school's history. Peel's personal soccer career also began at Midwestern State University where he started every game during his four-year career there.
Peel now makes Plano his home with his wife Susan and two children, Stephanie 15 and Austin 12. (top of page)
The University of Texas at Dallas Men's Soccer Team has 11 returning players from last year's squad to compliment the nine newcomers coach Jack Peel has brought in for the Comets inaugural season in the American Southwest Conference.
The key returners are Doug Mercer, Chris Ortega, Henry Nguyen and Yi Cheng. With several key newcomers to combine with the returners, the Comets will once again hope to be very strong side. (top of page)

John Antonisse
Women's Soccer Coach
John Antonisse is in his second year as head coach of
the University of Texas at Dallas Women's Soccer Program.
Previously, Antonisse was the assistant coach for men and women's
soccer at UTD and also spent a year as the men and women's soccer
coach at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
Antonisse is very familiar with Texas soccer. Growing up in Richardson, Texas, he played clud soccer for Sparta Bule and high school ball at J.J. Pierce High School. Both teams were perennial district and state champions.
After high school, Antonisse played one year at Richland College before transferring to the University of Tulsa. While at Tulsa, he was a three-year letterwinner and was named team captain for 1984 and 1985. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1986 with a B.S./B.A. in Marketing.
He has earnied both a National License and an Advanced National License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, as well as a USSF "B" License.
In addition to soccer, Antonisse is a
self-employed Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies in the
Dallas/Forth Worth area and resides in Richardson, Texas, with
his wife Beth, sons Robert (13) and Christian (7), and daughter
Jordan (10).

The University of Texas at Dallas women's soccer team returns eight members of last year's squad and will bring in eight new recruits for the 1998 season.
The key returners are Sarah Adams, Desiree Squire, Heather Ramsey, Natalie Raber and Alison Mentzer. With newcomers such as Cara Smedley and Christina Cox, this year's squad should be very competitive as it opens play as part of the American Southwest Conference. (top of page)
