Tricia Polhert
Softball
Coach
Tricia Polhert is entering her first year of coaching the Mountaineer softball program. She is a 1998 graduate of Drake University where she received her bachelor's degree in Broadcast News. During her time at at Drake University, Polhert was a four-year starter for the Bulldog softball team, was a team co-captain, was selected 1st Team All-Missouri Valley Conference and Academic All-conference.
Polhert learned her softball on the sandlots of Southern California, where she was a standout player for Royal High School and also competed in national level ASA juniors' programs.
In her short time at Schreiner, Polhert has demonstrated an enthusiasm for softball and coaching that is contagious. She has been able to energize her players and create fans for her sport all across campus. In addition, Polhert's solid knowledge of softball fundamentals and her keen eye has already led to noticable improvements in many of her player's batting swings and fielding techniques. The 1999 Scheiner College softball team expects to have a successful year. Under first-year coach Tricia Polhert the program has brought in talented and hard working players to form a squard that is dedicated, unified, and knows how to win. This year's Mountaineer softball team is built around speed, quickness, and aggressive base running, but it also has strong hitters, a solid defense, and great arms in the outfield to cut down base runners.
