LONGVIEW, TX  - Over the weekend, the No. 22-ranked UT Dallas volleyball team guaranteed at least a share of if its fifth straight American Southwest Conference East Division title. The Comets locked down the crown outright Tuesday night with a sweep of LeTourneau, 25-17, 25-17, 25-10.

Sophomore Dana Hilzendager had a team-high 17 kills while the Comets (now 20-2, 13-1 ASC) hit .374 as a team as UTD collected its first ever back-to-back outright division titles. The Comets also won the crown outright in 2007 and 2009 while sharing the title in 2006 and 2008.

Freshman Kailey Killingsworth added 10 kills while senior Jessica Nassau had nine kills. Senior Amber Wetz led the Comets with match-high 22 digs while senior setter Niki Calverley had a stellar night guiding the UTD offense with 52 assists.

The Comets are now off to their toughest stretch of the season as the travel to San Antonio for the Trinity National Tournament. Over the weekend, UTD will face three teams that have been ranked in the Top 25 this season, including two teams that a currently ranked above the Comets.

UTD will open the event against No. 16 Wisconsin-Eau Claire Friday at 1 p.m. and later face host Trinity at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Comets meet up with Claremont-Mudd-Scripts at 1:15 p.m. and No. 17 New York University at 3:30 p.m.
