UT Tyler Doubles Team Falls in First Round

OBERLIN, Ohio – The University of Texas at Tyler men's tennis duo of David Ashlock and Andrew Reznik were defeated in the opening round of the 2010 NCAA Individual Championships today, falling 6-4, 2-6, 1-6 to Andrew Lee and Andrew Thomson of Middlebury College at Don Hunsinger Courts.

Despite being knocked out of the championships, the duo combined to go an impressive 22-7 overall on the year. They led the match 1-0 before bowing out with consecutive losses.

For Ashlock, it closes an impressive career for the orange and blue, as he played in his final match. He leaves UT Tyler with the most doubles wins in program history, going 70-25 (.737), and will also finish second all-time in singles wins after posting a 50-22 (.694) record in four seasons.

Just a sophomore, Reznik is already climbing up the win column in doubles action with 44 wins (sixth all-time).
 
Thomson and Lee advanced later in the day and will play for a doubles championship against Trinity University.
