HITTER OF THE WEEKDynas Doud, SS, Jr., East Texas Baptist
Junior shortstop Dynas Doud (Adel, Iowa/DC-Grimes HS) had his best week of his career at ETBU batting .571 overall and hitting two home runs with seven RBI in series against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Ozarks. Doud started the week with two RBI and a home run in the UMHB series and finished batting .818 against Ozarks. In the Ozarks series he went 9-of-11 with five RBI and a home run. Overall he scored nine times on the week, went 12-of-21 at the plate and had a .905 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEKJustin Jenkins, RHP, Sr., LeTourneau
Senior pitcher Justin Jenkins (Hallsville, Texas/Hallsville HS) pitched back-to-back complete game wins over Sul Ross State and Mary Hardin-Baylor. He started the week with a 12-inning appearance against the Lobos, striking out seven in the 2-1 win. He followed that up with another complete game in a 10-4 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor with three strike outs. Jenkins' 12 innings pitched against Sul Ross State is an ASC record for most innings pitched in a single game.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES AT THE PLATE
 
Concordia Texas junior first baseman Connor Bertsch (Fayetteville, Texas/Fayetteville HS) hit .500 (6-for-12) and belted his sixth home run of the season in a series victory at Sul Ross State last weekend. Bertsch scored three times, drove in two and stole a base.
 
Hardin-Simmons junior first baseman Colson Craddick (Lubbock, Texas/Monterrey HS) had a big week for the Cowboys. He scored or drove in eight of the 13 HSU runs. Craddick hit a two-run home run in a 2-1 win over Louisiana College and had a .647 on-base percentage with five walks, a 1.083 slugging percentage and a 500 batting average.
 
Howard Payne senior third baseman John Elmore (Tolar, Texas/Tolar HS) went 3-for-4 from the plate in the series finale at Texas-Tyler.
 
LeTourneau senior third baseman Ryan Bertram (Friendswood, Texas/Baytown Christian Academy) hit .462 to lead the YellowJackets to a 4-2 mark last week. Bertram had a team-best eight RBI to go along with four runs scored. He had a hit in all six games including three multi-hit games. One of the multi-hit games was a four-hit game in the series opener against Mary Hardin-Baylor. Bertram also had two multi-RBI games in the week.
 
Louisiana College senior outfielder Jermaine Liggins (Maben, Miss./East Webster HS) was the catalyst for an LC offense that took game three from Hardin-Simmons (12-5) on Sunday to keep their ASC Tournament hopes alive. Liggins went 2-for-5 in game three with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored to lead the Wildcats in the win.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior outfielder K.J. Stark (Killeen, Texas/Ellison HS) had five multi-hit games in six starts last week. He batted .500 and slugged .700. Stark ripped three doubles and added a home run among his 15 total hits and even added two saves on the mound. He has now reached base in 30 consecutive games and has a seven-game hitting streak.
 
Ozarks sophomore shortstop Andrew Beck (Conway, Ark./St Joseph HS) finished the week 12-of-17 with five doubles over four games. He had multiple-hit games in each contest and pushed his hit-streak to 15 games. He went 4-for-5 in back-to-back games against Hendrix and East Texas Baptist. He posted three doubles against Hendrix.
 
Sul Ross State senior second baseman Shane Sawyer (Midland, Texas/Midland HS) led the Lobos with 10 hits in six games last week. Sawyer had at least one hit in each game and had four hits while starting all three games last Monday against LeTourneau. He had three hits against No. 12/14 Concordia Texas in the first game of the series Friday night and another three in Saturday's doubleheader.
 
Texas Dallas junior Brandon George (Spring, Texas/Spring HS) went 4-for-9 from the plate with a dramatic walk-off home run as the Comets took 2-of-3 games against McMurry at home over the weekend. George blasted his team-leading fifth home run of the season in the series finale against the War Hawks. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, George’s round-tripper completed a 6-5 come from behind win after McMurry took the lead in the top of the inning. He finished the series with three runs scored and three RBI while drawing three walks. George had at least one hit in each game and has extended his hitting streak to seven games.
 
Texas-Tyler junior outfielder Sam Lane (Plano, Texas/East HS) helped lead the Patriots to a 3-0 sweep of the Yellowjackets. Lane led the team with seven hits, a .583 average, two doubles, two stolen bases and nine total bases. Lane also continued his perfect season in the field, totaling four put outs with no errors.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON THE MOUND
 
East Texas Baptist senior pitcher Zack Tampke (Katy, Texas/Mayde Creek HS) earned his third win of the year pitching four innings of the seven inning game. He recorded two strike outs and didn't allow a run at all. He only walked one batter and retired the side in the fourth inning.
 
Hardin-Simmons sophomore pitcher Jeremy Hallmark (Midland, Texas/Midland HS) worked six scoreless innings allowing just three hits and struck out seven in HSU's 2-1 win over Louisiana College in a game that essentially kept the Cowboys alive for a postseason berth.
 
Howard Payne sophomore pitcher Kyle Ramon (San Antonio, Texas/East Central HS) recorded a career-high 11 strike outs in the series finale at Texas-Tyler. Ramon would go the distance in the loss allowing just three runs on nine hits and walking two.
 
Ozarks senior pitcher John Singler (Muskogee, Okla./Muskogee HS) received the win against East Texas Baptist after pitching 6.1 innings and issuing just one walk.
 
Sul Ross State junior pitcher Justin Vajgert (Kyle, Texas/Lehman HS) pitched eight innings and allowed one run and four hits against Letourneau on Monday. He came back on three days’ rest and allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings against first-place Concordia Texas. Vajgert did not walk a batter in either appearance and struck out 14 batters in 15 innings.
 
Texas Dallas junior right-hander Brandon Lee (Dallas, Texas/Greenhill School) picked up his third straight win as he tossed a complete game in the Comets' 5-2 win over McMurry to open Sunday's doubleheader. Lee gave up two earned runs while giving up just six hits in 7.0 innings of work. He struck out six War Hawks without issuing a walk.
 
Texas-Tyler senior pitcher Jaime Paxton (Hurst, Texas/LD Bell HS) was stellar on Senior Day against Howard Payne, totaling nine strikeouts in a complete game shutout of the Jackets. Paxton gave up just one hit, allowing just two walks and struck out eight of his nine batters in consecutive fashion.
