HITTER OF THE WEEKKaleb Robinson, DH, Sr., Texas Dallas
Senior designated hitter Kaleb Robinson (Okinawa, Japan/Kubasaki HS) paced the Comets to a series win at Hardin-Simmons to wrap up the regular season by going 7-for-11 from the plate with a pair of home runs. Robinson opened the weekend going 3-for-3 with a double and run scored in a 6-3 loss to open the series. He then went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs and his first home run of the day in a 20-9 rout of the Cowboys. Robinson finished the series going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 7-4 win over HSU. He reached base nine times during the series, drawing a walk in game one and was hit by a pitch in game two.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEKJordan Carns, RHP, So., LeTourneau
Sophomore pitcher Jordan Carns (Sierra Vista, Arizona/Buena HS) closed out the regular season with a complete game shutout of Ozarks in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. Carns held Ozarks to just five singles and struck out six en route to the win.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES AT THE PLATE
 
Concordia Texas junior first baseman Connor Bertsch (Fayetteville, Texas/Fayetteville HS) hit .429 (3-for-7) with a double and a triple to lead CTX at the plate this past weekend. Bertsch slugged .857 and reached base at a .538 clip during the three-game set with Mary Hardin-Baylor.
 
Howard Payne sophomore designated hitter Brett Quackenbush (Kingsville, Texas/Riviera Kaufer HS) led the Jackets to a three game sweep of Sul Ross State to claim the final ASC Tournament spot. He was 6-for-12 from the plate in the three games with five RBI and 11 total bases. He had three doubles and one triple and scored four runs.
 
LeTourneau junior outfielder Sean Sellers (Arlington, Texas/Woodinville (Wash.) HS) hit an impressive .750 in two games played to lead YellowJackets to a three-game sweep. Three of his six hits were for extra bases including a pair of doubles and a home run to lead LETU. He had a team-best six hits and 11 total bases en route to a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage. Sellers had three hits in each of the games played.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior first baseman/designated hitter Rob Loewe (Waller, Texas/Waller HS) had two multi-hit games in four starts last week and batted .438. He drove in five runs and scored three more. Loewe slugged .688 with a home run and a double as UMHB knocked No. 13/14 Concordia Texas out of the No. 1 seed with a 9-5 win in the regular season finale.
 
Sul Ross State junior first baseman Eli Gallego (Alpine, Texas/Alpine HS) led the Lobos with six hits in the series at Howard Payne. Gallego had three hits in Saturday's first game of the doubleheader, a contest which he also started on the mound, and drove in the tying run in the third inning. His double in the top of the seventh was a key hit in a three-run rally. He had two hits and drove in the Lobos' first run in Friday's series opener.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON THE MOUND
 
Concordia Texas freshman pitcher Justin Traxler (Austin, Texas/Vista Ridge HS) pitched the final three innings in last Friday's 7-1 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor to earn his fifth save of the year. The right-hander allowed only two hits and struck out one in his only appearance of the weekend.
 
Howard Payne freshman pitcher Shae Edmonds (Burnet, Texas/Burnet HS) came through on the mound in all three games this weekend for the Jackets. He claimed the save in the Friday 5-2 victory and in Saturday's game one win. Edmonds followed that up with a win in game two throwing 3.1 innings in relief allowing no runs and just four hits. For the weekend, he threw 4.2 innings and allowed no runs, four hits and had two strike outs.
 
Sul Ross State freshman pitcher Cody Remore (Liberty Hill, Texas/Liberty Hill HS) pitched well in his only start in the third and final game of the series at Howard Payne. He left the game with a 3-2 lead. The start marked Remore’s fourth in his last six appearances in which he has allowed three or fewer earned runs. Remore recorded his seventh consecutive start in which he has pitched five or more innings.
 
Texas Dallas freshman pitcher Zach Rubel (McKinney, Texas/Boyd HS) spun four hitless innings in relief to pick up the win in a 7-4 win over Hardin-Simmons in Saturday's series finale. Rubel struck out two and walked two as he improved to 2-0 on the season.
