CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK - Jamie Ball, Sr., OF, Hardin-Simmons
Senior outfielder Jamie Ball (Morton, Miss. / Morton HS) had a big week for the Cowboys. Over four games Ball went 6-for-14 with three doubles, a triple, a home run, eight RBI and scored seven runs. He had a .556 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. He also added a stolen base and a sacrifice fly.

CO-HITTER OF THE WEEK - Alex Bishop, So., INF, UT Tyler
Sophomore infielder Alex Bishop (Calgary, Alberta, Canada / Vauxhall Academy) went 9-for-18 with four doubles and driving in eight runs for the Patriots in a four-game week. Bishop had a home run and three singles during the stretch. He started last week going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a 6-5 loss at Southwestern before having six RBI in a three-game sweep at Sul Ross State. He started with a three-RBI performance in an 18-4 win hitting a home run and a single. Later Bishop went 2-for-4 with a double in the second game and finished off the week by going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in the regular-season finale on Saturday. Bishop leads the Patriots with a .426 batting average this season along with 18 doubles and 29 walks.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Lane Hobbs, Jr., RHP, Concordia Texas
Junior pitcher Lane Hobbs (Thrall, Texas / Temple JC) recorded a complete game shutout against Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday in the Tornados' 9-0 win. Hobbs gave up just two hits and held batters to a .083 batting average with five strike outs.

CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Colt Ritzel, Jr., LHP, Hardin-Simmons
Junior pitcher Colt Ritzel (Sanger, Texas / Vernon JC) went seven and one-third shutout innings in a 6-1 win over Howard Payne. Ritzel allowed just two hits and struck out seven as HSU combined for a shutout to wrap up the No. 3 seed in the ASC Championship Tournament Series Red bracket.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES AT THE PLATE

Concordia Texas sophomore outfielder Michael Evan (Cameron, Texas / Yoe HS) had five doubles and seven hits overall in the series against Mary Hardin-Baylor. He also drove in a team-high five runs over the course of the week.

East Texas Baptist senior third baseman Dynas Doud (Adel, Iowa / D-C Grimes HS) hit a first-inning home run in game one for a 1-0 lead and was consistent in each game with an at-bat. He had two hits in game one, one in game two, and three in game three.

LeTourneau senior designated hitter Dillon Yates (Waxahachie, Texas / Waxahachie HS) made his first appearance in 2016 after missing the earlier portion of the season due to injury. He had three pinch hits in the weekend series against UT Dallas. Yates came off the bench to hit a pinch-hit single that scored the winning run in the series opener against the Comets. In the series finale, Yates he had a pinch-hit single and was later intentionally walked in the 4-3 win.

Ozarks senior outfielder Dean Igert (Fort Gibson, Okla. / Fort Gibson HS) went 5-for-12 in the season finale against McMurry. Igert ends his career with 100 hits, 77 runs scored and 10 doubles.

UT Dallas senior first baseman Nick Marti (Spring, Texas / Spring HS) hit .537 with five RBI as the Comets went 2-2 last week. Marti opened the week with a 2-for-6 performance with two RBI and a run scored as the Comets picked up a 15-10 midweek win at Mary Hardin-Baylor. Marti then went 5-for-10 with three RBI and a run scored in a weekend series at LeTourneau to close out the regular season schedule against ASC teams.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON THE MOUND

East Texas Baptist senior pitcher Jimmy Russo (Kingwood, Texas / Kingwood Park HS) recorded two saves on 2.2 innings pitched in two games. In game one, he came in the seventh inning and earned the save giving up just one hit with a fly out and a strikeout winning 6-3. In game three, he pitched the final two innings forcing a fly out, ground out, fly out in the eighth and in the ninth inning retired the side striking out the last two batters. Russo finishes the regular season with nine saves.

LeTourneau senior pitcher Boone Privette (Fort Worth, Texas / Cedar Valley College) pitched a complete game over two days with weather interrupting the series opener against UT Dallas on Friday. Privette allowed four hits, three runs (two earned) and struck out seven in the 4-3 win. All four of the hits that he gave up were singles.

Ozarks freshman pitcher Dylan McLemore (Osceola, Ark. / Rivercrest HS) went the final 4.2 innings of a 15-inning game against Ecclesia College to receive the win. McLemore allowed just one hit and had three strike outs.

UT Dallas freshman pitcher Jordan Murphy (Austin, Texas / Connally HS) pitched well enough to win in a 4-3 road loss at LeTourneau to close out a weekend series with the YellowJackets. In his second start of the season, Murphy tossed 6.0 innings without an earned run and three strikeouts. Murphy limited LETU to just four hits before the Jackets rally to win off the Comet bullpen in the bottom of the seventh inning.

UT Tyler senior pitcher Michael Blevins (Houston, Texas / Mayde Creek HS) recorded six strike outs and allowed only one run in seven innings last Saturday at Sul Ross State in the Patriots' season finale. Blevins improved to 3-3 on the season after holding the Lobos to a .192 average with five hits in the game. He ends the regular season with 41 strikeouts and a 3.78 ERA.
