RICHARDSON, Texas - Belhaven University has accepted an invitation to join the USA South Athletic Conference and will begin competition in the fall of 2022. Belhaven has been a member of the American Southwest Conference since 2015.

"Belhaven University informed the American Southwest Conference of withdrawal from membership as it has accepted an invitation from the USA South Athletic Conference," said ASC Commissioner Amy Carlton. "Belhaven will depart the ASC at the end of the current membership year, June 30, 2022, and remains eligible for ASC regular-season and tournament championships and student awards during the 2021-22 season. While disappointed to see Belhaven leave, the ASC is proud to have provided the University a path in its journey to NCAA Division III membership and looks forward to continuing competition against Blazers' athletic teams."
