New Braunfels, Texas — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Athletic Training Staff has been named the 2025-26 Athletic Training Staff of the Year after a vote by their peers, the conference announced Friday.
The Athletic Training Staff of the Year Award is selected by the Directors of Athletic Training at each league member school and recognizes a staff that provides a high level of service and professionalism to student-athletes, their institutions, and the conference.
The Cru athletic training staff is led by Head Athletic Trainer Daryl Hausam and includes athletic trainers Brean Noble and Katie Montalbo, whose efforts have helped provide outstanding care and support for UMHB student-athletes.
Hausam joined the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2011 and was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in July 2013. He primarily oversees the football and softball programs while directing the Mary Hardin-Baylor Athletic Training Department.
Noble joined the UMHB Athletic Training Staff in 2020 and works primarily with soccer, acrobatics & tumbling, and men's and women's golf.
Montalbo joined the staff in 2023 and oversees beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, and cross country.

We are incredibly proud to see them recognized as ASC Athletic Training Staff of the Year," said Mary Hardin-Baylor Vice President for Athletics, Hunter Sims. They are an invaluable part of our athletic department and the foundation of our student-athletes' well-being."
Mary Hardin-Baylor previously earned the Athletic Training Staff of the Year award following the 2017-18 academic year.
