2022 ASC Women’s Cross Country Schedule
RICHARDSON, Texas –
McMurry was selected to win the 2022 American Southwest Conference Women’s Cross Country Championship in a vote of the league’s head coaches. The Warhawks garnered 79 points and seven first-place votes, as they look to repeat as the champion from 2021.
Mary Hardin-Baylor came in second with 66 points and one first-place vote.
UT Dallas completed the top three with 63 points.
In the middle of the poll were
East Texas Baptist (63)
, Hardin-Simmons (42/1 first place vote) and
Concordia Texas (37) listed fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Rounding out the poll were
Ozarks (28),
LeTourneau (26), and
Sul Ross State (16).
Thirteen runners were among Runners to Watch in the 2022 season. Nominated by head coaches, the watch list includes eight who earned All-Conference honors in 2021, highlighted by individual medalist
Jazmin Chacon from McMurry and Freshman of the Year
Sage Herrera from UT Dallas.
Regular season races will begin on Thursday, September 1. The ASC Cross Country Championship is scheduled for October 29, hosted by East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas.
