ALEXANDRIA, La. – Mary Hardin-Baylor junior
William Sammons was selected 2023 American Southwest Conference Golfer of the Year to headline the All-Conference and individual men's golf awards. The honors were presented following the 2023 ASC Men's Golf Championship at Oakwing Golf Club.
Sammons, who also was on All-ASC First Team and All-Tournament Team, entered the conference tournament averaging a 73.3 through 19 rounds for the Cru. He was the model of consistency in the ASC Championship, shooting even all three rounds for a 216.
UT Dallas sophomore Dallas
Cole Wiley secured ASC Newcomer of the Year. He qualified for the ASC All-Tournament Team, as he finished tied for third with a three-round score of 213. His teammate
Tyler Durden garnered Freshman of the Year and was another component to the championship lineup with his 214 that landed him on the All-Tournament Team.

Brady Nelson and Concordia Texas graduate student
Travis Skorheim grabbed Co-Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year honors from their peers. Nelson is a two-time recipient after winning consecutive seasons.

Paul Leslie were named Co-Coach of the Year. Both received the honor for the first time after guiding their programs to national and regional rankings this spring.
