Joshua Bode battled at the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships in Singles on Thursday (May 18). Bode challenged top seeded Case Western Reserve James Hopper and fell 6-4, 6-4 to cap his season in the first round.
Bode only lost for the second time in singles, giving him an astounding 20-2 record overall. Bode was named American Southwest Conference West Division Most Valuable Player. He was the lone member for the league selected to compete beyond the Tornados automatic qualifier bid, which he was crucial in securing a 5-4 victory over Hardin-Simmons. Bode led Concordia Texas to its second ASC Men’s Tennis Championship and was the first member of the program to compete in the national tournament for singles.
