OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Gaylonn Glynn, QB, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior quarterback
Gaylonn Glynn (Waco, Texas) went 20 for 24 for 354 yards and totaled four touchdowns to lead the Cowboys past Albright, 47-3. Glynn helped HSU roll up 628 yards on offense and ran for 66 yards. It was the ninth straight season-opening win for Hardin-Simmons.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Peyton Lowe, LB, Sr., Howard Payne
Howard Payne senior linebacker
Peyton Lowe (Gunter, Texas) anchored an HPU defense that kept George Fox out of the endzone in a 17-3 victory for the Yellow Jackets. Lowe had a team-high eight tackles and forced a fumble. He was part of a unit that had two goal line stands versus the Bruins in what was a tight game throughout the night.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jack Bruner, K, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore kicker
Jack Bruner (Wimberley, Texas) went 3-for-3 in field goals with two 37-yard kicks and one 40-yarder. He added one PAT with seven kickoffs for 407 yards with a 58.1 average. He also had five punts total 188 yards.

Offensive
Howard Payne graduate student wide receiver
Jordan Carroll (Forney, Texas) ed the HPU offensive attack at George Fox with eight catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. In a 17-3 victory for the Yellow Jackets over the Bruins, Carroll's TD reception broke open a scoreless game giving the Yellow Jackets a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.
McMurry senior wide receiver
Kristopher Martin (El Paso, Texas) led the Maroon and White receiving corps during a 358-yard passing attack with nine receptions for 134 yards with a touchdown reception. Was his third career 100-yard-plus total.
Texas Lutheran junior wide receiver
Jacob Wallace (Marion, Texas) totaled three receptions for 65 yards and notched two touchdowns to account towards 12 of the Bulldogs’ 31 points against No. 21 Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Sul Ross State sophomore quarterback
Andrew Martinez (El Paso, Texas) completed 23 passes for 332 yards with four touchdowns and tallied 372 total yards of offense against NCAA Division II Western New Mexico. His longest touchdown of the game went for 77 yards. He also had 10 carries for 40 yards.
Austin sophomore quarterback
Peyton Keily (Round Rock, Texas) had a strong all-around game against Nebraska Wesleyan in the season opener for Austin College, throwing for 105 yards and adding 52 more on the ground with a touchdown in a defeat against the Prairie Wolves.
Mary Hardin-Baylor junior wide receiver
Jerry Cephus (Academy, Texas) had six grabs for 111 yards and a touchdown against No. 23 Wisconsin-River Falls. His longest reception was 37 yards and had a 23-yard score.
Defensive
Hardin-Simmons senior linebacker
Cade Michna (Lorena, Texas) Had a career-best 18 tackles as the Cowboy defense did not allow a touchdown in a 47-3 win over Albright. He helped on the Lions QB run game that featured 260-pound and 334-pound QBs. He added a pass break up and had a tackle for loss.
Austin senior linebacker
Colton Gerken (Grand Prairie, Texas) was all over the field on Saturday evening in the season opener against Nebraska Wesleyan, making 10 tackles - including five solo stops - and adding an interception while also helping to limit NWU to 81 yards on the
ground.
Mary Hardin-Baylor junior defensive lineman
Mason Cavness (Alpine, Texas) had 10 total tackles with three tackles for loss against No. 23 UW River Falls. He added one sack with 12 total yards lost.
Texas Lutheran junior defensive end
Grayson Kowalski (Sabinal, Texas) produced four tackles, forced a fumble, had a fumble recovery and returned it for a 40-yard touchdown.
McMurry sophomore defensive lineman
Dorian LeBlanc (Beaumont, Texas) was the second-leading tackler for the War Hawks. He logged six solo tackles, one assisted, and one quarterback hurry.
Special Teams
Howard Payne senior punter
Jackson Coulson (Georgetown, Texas) had four punts for 169 yards, as he averaged 39.7 in a 17-3 win.
Texas Lutheran senior kicker
Joaquin Rodriguez (San Antonio, Texas) converted all four extra pointers and chipped in a 32-yard field goal for the Bulldogs in a 48-31 setback.
