MSOC | The YellowJackets and Cowboys are headed to the ASC Championship

ABILENE, Texas – The American Southwest Conference Men’s Soccer Championship match is set as LeTourneau and Hardin-Simmons earned semifinal wins.

LeTourneau and Mary Hardin-Baylor played two scoreless halves on Thursday afternoon, forcing overtime. During regulation, the Cru totaled 17 shots while the YellowJackets had nine. The teams played two extra 10-minute periods with strong defense, as neither team was allowed a shot on goal.

LeTourneau opened penalty kicks with a make from Emad Mohamed. After a Cru miss, a make from Caleb Bransford put the YellowJackets up 2-0. Carter Simpson made the sole penalty kick for the Cru. LeTourneau continued in their success as Diego Enriquez scored and Octavio Jacquez made a save. Ethan Carillo added the fourth make for the YellowJackets, advancing them to the ASC Finals.

The semifinal between Hardin-Simmons and East Texas Baptist did not see a score in the first half.

Dylan Caudle was first to score for the Cowboys in the 52nd minute. Daniel Villagomez followed that with a score six minutes later on an assist from Brandon Krohn to put HSU up 2-0. Maxwell Winneker added the third goal on an assist from Krohn followed by another Villagomez score at the 78:02 mark.

The Tigers got on the board in the 84th minute with a goal from Bruno Palmieri. ETBU could not overcome the deficit, falling 4-1 to Hardin-Simmons.
The Cowboys totaled 16 shots while the Tigers recorded 15 shots.
