PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jayla Hall, F, Gr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist graduate student forward
Jayla Hall (Granbury, Texas) recorded a double-double in the only game of the week for ETBU with 15 points and 12 rebounds in 26 minutes played. It is her fourth double-double of her career and second this year. She shot 45 percent from the floor. Early in the first quarter, ETBU had a 10-2 run as Hall had six points in the run for an eight-point lead.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Howard Payne sophomore guard
Taysie Trejo (Midlothian, Texas) averaged 17.0 points per game over two games. Trejo recorded 18 points with seven steals at Austin College then followed that with 16 points and four steals in a win at the University of Dallas.
Hardin-Simmons freshman guard
Jacqueline Berry (Texhoma, Oklahoma) averaged 10.7 points a game over the three games the Cowgirls played on the road trip out west. She scored 11 points in a buzzer-beater loss to George Fox and scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds in the win over Pacific University. Berry leads the Cowgirls as a freshman averaging 14.8 points.
