OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kyle Brown, QB, Sr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons senior quarterback
Kyle Brown (Cedar Park, Texas) had his best day as a Cowboy while playing just two and a half quarters in a win over Howard Payne. He completed 21-of-29 passes for 351 yards and threw four touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown as well. Brown’s touchdown passes covered 90, 52, 38 and 11 yards.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Izeal Jones, LB, Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor junior linebacker
Izeal Jones (Pearland, Texas) played an integral part in the Cru's win over ETBU. He totaled 13 tackles, five solo, against the Tigers with one tackle for loss. Jones was an important part of a Crusader defense that shutout the Tigers in the second half.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Pedro Altamirano, K, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons junior kicker
Pedro Altamirano (Clyde, Texas) had his best day as a Cowboy hitting a pair of field goals (47 and 25 yards) and made all nine extra points. He also hit 10 of his 12 kickoffs for touchbacks in the Cowboys' 69-14 homecoming win over Howard Payne.

Offensive
East Texas Baptist graduate student wide receiver
Kobe Chambers (Greenwood, Miss.) had his second 100-yard+ receiving game this year with 126 yards on four catches versus No. 21 UMHB. His first touchdown catch came at 8:24 in the 2nd quarter on a 38-yard pass from Shai Markajani to put ETBU up, 21-14. His second touchdown catch was for 53 yards with just 1:18 left in the first half, giving ETBU a 28-21 lead at the half.
Howard Payne junior running back
Blessing (Bill) Ngene (Madisonville, Texas) had 110 net rushing yards on 10 attempts (11 yards/carry) and 2 receptions for 17 yards with 1 touchdown versus Hardin Simmons.
Mary Hardin-Baylor senior running back
Asa Osbourn (Denison, Texas) rushed for 130 yards on 16 carries for the Cru, scoring a trio of touchdowns. He had six, five and one-yard touchdown pushes with a 32-yard rushing long. Osbourn did not lose a single yard on the ground and scored both the go-ahead and insurance score against ETBU.
Defensive
East Texas Baptist senior defensive end
Dominick Williams (Houston, Texas) continued to be a defensive presence on the line with 10 tackles and one sack. He now has nine sacks on the year and at least one in the last four games. He forced a fumble in the first quarter at mid-field as UMHB was driving and the score tied at seven. That turnover turned into seven points on the next play for ETBU on a 54-yard pass and a 14-7 lead. His sack came in the second half for a loss of three yards.
Howard Payne sophomore safety
Bryan Elizalde (Grand Saline, Texas) had nine total tackles with six solo and one tackle for loss versus Hardin Simmons.
Hardin-Simmons senior defensive end
Hayden Hayes (Royse City, Texas) led a group effort by the Cowboys' defense. He finished the game with five tackles and 3.5 of those were for losses.
Special Teams
Howard Payne freshman punter
Eli Cobos (Big Spring, Texas) punted eight times for a 39.8-yard average and had two kickoff touchbacks versus Hardin Simmons.
Mary Hardin-Baylor freshman
Logan Childs (San Antonio, Texas) had two key plays that secured a big win for UMHB. His quick thinking after a botched snap extended a Crusader drive that ate up five minutes of crucial clock time in the fourth quarter. Childs ended that drive with a 35-yard punt, pinning the Tigers at the one-yard line. He averaged 30.5 yards on two punts.
