PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Amillion Fowler, G, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor's Amillion Fowler recorded a double-double against Schreiner, tallying 22 points with 11 rebounds. She went 5-for-5 in free throws with eight made field goals and one three pointer made. Fowler also added one steal in the 63-53 victory over Schreiner.
OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
Macey Jones from East Texas Baptist had a double-double in an overtime win over Concordia Texas, 59-57, with 16 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 47 percent from the floor. In OT, she had the tying basket with 57 seconds left to go, tying the game at 57. She also posted two blocks and two assists as a forward in the game.
Hardin-Simmons Abbie Crow averaged 9.5 points a contest in two games for the Cowgirls on the weekend. She led the team with 13 points shooting 5-for-8 against the University of Dallas on Saturday and scored six points in the win over Austin College on Sunday. The two wins helped the Cowgirls to a record of 8-1, winning the last eight games after dropping the season opener.
Caitlyn Panuco from Howard Payne led the way for the Jackets by scoring 14.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. She also contributed with six steals and seven assists over a three game span.
