Cowboys close season in NCAA Round of 16

NEW YORK CITY – The Hardin-Simmons University Men’s Basketball team closed their 2024-25 season in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship Round of 16 on Friday night in New York City.

Hardin-Simmons competed against top seed New York University in the NCAA third round. The Cowboys played the Violets an even 41-41 second half but were not able to overcome the deficit from first-half action, falling 91-59. Chris Bryant led with 12 points while Asher Fleming added nine points and five rebounds.

The Cowboys closed their season with a 20-10 overall record and 8-0 ASC mark. Hardin-Simmons earned the 2025 American Southwest Conference Champion title and made it to the Sweet 16 for just the second time in program history.
