AUSTIN, Texas – Hardin-Simmons men’s basketball student-athlete Austin Brewer was selected on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team, released Tuesday.

Hardin-Simmons senior center Austin Brewer holds a 4.00 GPA and is studying for his MBA. He led the Cowboys in rebounds with 228 total while adding 433 points. Brewer added 119 free throws and 55 assists. He also contributed 30 blocks and 27 steals to the Cowboys successful season. Brewer was also named D3hoops.com All-Region 10 Second Team and All-ASC First Team this season.

Brewer helped the Cowboys claim the first ASC Championship title for Hardin-Simmons since 2017. Hardin-Simmons went 8-0 in ASC action and became only the fourth men's basketball team to finish conference play undefeated. The Cowboys won two games in the NCAA Tournament over Cal Lu and the University of St. Thomas before traveling to the NCAA Sweet 16 against No. 1 overall NYU. Hardin-Simmons finished the year with a record of 20-10.
