MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Andrae Gibson, Sr., East Texas Baptist
East Texas Baptist senior Andrae Gibson (McKinney, Texas) had a third place finish in the 400 meter dash and was just 00.38 from first place and 00.08 from second place. He was then fifth in the 200 meter dash just 00.40 from first place as the top five were all separated by less then 4/10ths of a second. He also participated in both relays with a third and fourth place finish.
 
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Evan Hanson, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons junior Evan Hanson (Dallas, Texas) placed inside the top-10 in all three of his throws in the mainly Division I field at Abilene Christian on Friday and Saturday for the Cowboys. He took fourth place in the hammer throw with 154-6 ft., eighth in the discus with 148-6 ft., and eighth in the shot put with 40-8 3/4 ft.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kylah Washington, So., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons sophomore Kylah Washington (Midland, Texas) came within a tenth of a second of tying her Cowgirl 100m dash record with a 12.01 at the ACU Wes Kittley meet on Saturday. She also finished with a 25.34 in the 200m to lead the HSU sprinters.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Katie Baller, Gr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons graduate student Katie Baller (Lone Tree, Colo.) placed second in the high jump for the Cowgirls at the Abilene Christian Wes Kittley Invitational on Saturday in Abilene with a jump of 5-5 ft. She tied the first place height jumped with an extra attempt in the Division I meet.
 

OTHER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES
 
East Texas Baptist sophomore Cooper Mosier (Anna, Texas) threw 45'5.25 on his fifth attempt which was more than a foot better than his other attempts and missed second place by four inches and first place by seven inches in the shot put. On his fifth attempt in the javelin, he threw 139'10" for sixth place and was then 11th in the discus.
 
Hardin-Simmons sophomore Adan Santoyo (Bridgeport, Texas) had two incredible times to lead the Cowboys at the ACU Wes Kittley meet on Saturday. He ran a 200m in 21.93 for 12th place in the Division I ACU field and came in fifth in the 400m out of 17 runners with a 48.97 second lap.
 
East Texas Baptist senior Shakayla Browder (Campti, Louis.) was less than five feet from winning the shot put at the D3 Challenge at TLU and three feet from second place. On her final throw in discus, she had a 111'3" coming just seven feet shy of third place.
 
East Texas Baptist sophomore Danna Requena (Kilgore, Texas) came in second for the 5,000 meter run 20 seconds behind the winner and 13 seconds ahead of the third place runner. She was then 10th out of 26 runners in the 1,500 meter run at 5:21.75 which was 10 seconds off of second. She was 10th by just 00:00.2 over TLU's runner.
