MARSHALL, Texas – East Texas Baptist University claimed the 2025 American Southwest Conference Softball Championship Title after a 2-0 win over LeTourneau University on Saturday in Marshall.

East Texas Baptist was first on the board with a run in the bottom of the second inning. The Tigers added the final run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI double to bring the margin to two. After three innings of great defense, the contest remained scoreless, giving ETBU the 2-0 victory.

East Texas Baptist receives the ASC Automatic Qualifier to the NCAA DIII Softball Championship Tournament. The NCAA Softball selection show will take place on Monday, May 12^th on NCAA.com.

Pitching Decision:
Avery Holland earned the win for the Tigers, pitching the complete seven inning shutout with just one hit and seven strikeouts. Laney Taylor took the loss for the YellowJackets, pitching 3.1 innings with two runs on eight hits.

Stat Leaders:
Izabella Morales, Emma Bell and Mary Frances Ellis all recorded a pair of hits for ETBU. Morales earned both RBIs in the contest.
