New Braunfels, Texas – The American Southwest Conference welcomes Matt Pruitt, who has been named the conference's Coordinator of Softball Officials.
Pruitt brings more than 20 years of collegiate officiating experience to the role and has served as the Region V NJCAA North Softball Coordinator for the past six years. In that position, he has overseen officiating for nationally recognized junior college softball programs, including Grayson College, McLennan College, Temple College, and Weatherford College.
"I am truly honored to join the American Southwest Conference and serve as its Coordinator of Softball Umpires," said Pruitt. "I look forward to building strong relationships with the conference's coaches and administrators. I take great pride in providing each member institution with professional, high-quality officiating. My goal is to deliver exceptional umpires, strengthen communication, and ensure that every student-athlete and team receives the level of officiating they deserve."
Pruitt has demonstrated a strong commitment to the development and advancement of softball umpires throughout his career. He currently serves as Vice President and Trainer for the Wichita Falls Softball Umpires Association and founded an annual collegiate umpire advancement camp designed to help high school officials successfully transition to the collegiate level.
