MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University baseball team advances to the NCAA DIII Baseball Championship Tournament Regional Winners Bracket with an 11-4 win over Millsaps on Friday in Marshall.

The Tigers took control of the contest early with a seven-run first inning. Each team added one in the second before ETBU brought their lead to 9-1 with a home run in the third inning. Millsaps added three more runs in the final three innings, but the Tigers secured the win with a pair of runs in the top of the ninth.

ETBU will return to action at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17^th and will take Trinity (TX).

Matthew Irwin earned the win for the Tigers pitching 7.0 innings allowing three earned run on nine hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Tarantino took the loss for Millsaps with nine earned runs on 12 hits in 5.2 innings.

Stat Leaders:
Dylan Burnaman led the Tigers with three hits and two RBI while five athletes recorded a pair of hits. Rumachik and Chavez each tallied two RBI in the contest.
