All-Time ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor Recipients
DALLAS – Twelve graduating student-athletes from six American Southwest Conference member institutions were honored with the 2024-25 ASC Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor.
The Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor is the highest honor one can achieve as an American Southwest Conference student-athlete. Presented by the Faculty Athletics Representatives, the Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor is awarded to one male and one female member of each member institution's graduating class who has compiled the most outstanding record in academics, athletics, and leadership over their collegiate career.

EAST TEXAS BAPTIST
Bruno Palmieri | Biology | Men’s Soccer | Santos, Brazil
Excelling on the pitch, in the classroom, and in the community, Bruno Palmieri is East Texas Baptist University’s recipient of the American Southwest Conference Male Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor award. Palmieri is a four-year ETBU men’s soccer team member, an All-ASC player, earned numerous academic awards, and served his community.
Carrying a 4.0 grade point average as a Biology major, Palmieri is a three-time ASC All-Academic team member and on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. He is a part of three honor societies: Alpha Chi, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma, the Chemistry Honor Society, and Gamma Sigma Epsilon. Twice, he has won ETBU’s All-Academic team in men’s soccer, and in 2024, he earned the academic excellence award for ETBU’s Biology Department. As a freshman, ETBU named him the Biology and Chemistry Freshman of the Year, and the following year, he was a Leadership Fellow on campus. In the fall of 2024, he was a part of the Welch Foundation Chemistry research team. He graduated in December with his degree Summa Cum Laude, was a Presidential Scholar, and on the President’s List.
Palmieri helped ETBU to two ASC Tournament appearances and a semi-final match in 2024. He is a two-time All-ASC award winner, earning third-team and honorable mention awards. This year, the ASC named him to the All-Tournament team. His first collegiate goal came as the golden goal in a 2-1 win over Austin College in 2021. He finished his career with 27 points, nine goals, and nine assists in 68 games while starting 60.
Being a servant-leader, Palmieri consistently served others on campus and in the community. At ETBU, he was the captain of the men’s soccer team, an ACE Biology tutor, a Student Government Ambassador Senator and secretary in 2024, a Thrive Peer mentor, a part of FCA and Fields of Faith, and helped with the ETBU trustees worship and prayer event. In 2023, he traveled to Spain/Portugal with the ETBU
Mary Frances Ellis | Accounting/Finance | Softball | Elysian Fields, Texas
Mary Frances Ellis has been a servant-leader since she stepped on East Texas Baptist University’s campus. The two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American has served her team, ETBU, and the East Texas Area, maintained a 4.0 grade point average, and excelled on the field, winning the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship.
Ellis, from Elysian Fields, Texas, came to ETBU in the fall of 2021 and made an immediate impact as a leader. In four years, she has served locally at Mission Marshall, Hallsville ISD, Marshall ISD, the Starr Family Home, and Operation Christmas Child while being a Pen Pal to children in India, going on a mission trip to Australia, and helping Team Impact. Averaging 18 hours of community service per year, Ellis has logged 24 hours of service this year, helping at the Hallsville ISD Morning High Fives program and writing letters to her Pen Pal. At her home church, she volunteers each year to help with VBS and the youth group. On the softball team, she has held leadership positions in the servant-leadership group, Key Holder group (two years), organizational group, performance group, and spiritual leadership group.
The classroom has been a place of success for Ellis, who has a 4.0 grade point average as a finance/accounting major. She has earned two College Sports Communicators Academic All-American awards, making the first team in 2024 and third team in 2023, and is a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection. She is the second player in program history to earn two CSC Academic All-American awards and the third player named a first-team selection. The four-time ASC All-Academic team member was the ASC’s Softball Distinguished Scholar-Athlete award winner in 2024 and is a two-time NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete. The three-time ETBU President’s List member is a part of the ETBU Presidential Scholar Society, having the highest GPA in both the ETBU School of Business and School of Accounting/Finance. She is also a PA.
HARDIN-SIMMONS
Mason Cravens | Economics | Football | Iowa Park, Texas
Mason Cravens finished with a 4.0 GPA and was an economics major. He earned Second Team All-ASC honors and was a CSC Academic All-American Second Team selection. Cravens was the top male student at December graduation and received the Academic Foundation Medal. He was also recognized in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society and was the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Tri-City Huddle Athlete of the Year.
Kaylee Maddox | Exercise Science | Women’s Soccer | Lubbock, Texas
Kaylee Maddox holds a career 4.0 GPA and is an exercise science major. She was named ASC Co-Midfielder of the Year and a First Team All-ASC selection. Maddox was also an All-ASC Tournament selection, helping the Cowgirls to the Champion Title. She was a CSC Academic All-American Second Team selection and a USC All-Region Third Team honoree.
HOWARD PAYNE
Seth Bowman | Psychology | Baseball | Fort Worth, Texas
Seth Bowman is a true scholar-athlete. A first baseman for the HPU YellowJackets, Seth is leading the team in Home Runs and RBIs while maintaining a .974 fielding average. Off the field, Seth has a 4.00 GPA majoring in Psychology. He has received the HPU the Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete in 2023-24. In the 2024-25 Academic Awards Chapel, he received the Outstanding Student in Bible and Psychology.
Brylee Awbrey | Kinesiology | Volleyball | Midland, Texas
Brylee Awbrey, also is a true scholar-athlete. As an outside hitter, she was third on the team in kills (124) and points (158), along with 22 assists. On the defensive end, she contributed 95 digs and 47 blocks. She was an Honorable Mention, but was named the ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. Off the court, Awbrey is a Kinesiology major with a 4.00 GPA. In 2023-2024, she was named HPU's Outstanding Female Scholar Athlete. She has received the Dr. Nat Tracy Servant Leadership Award for 2024-2025. In the 2024-25 Academic Awards Chapel, she received the Outstanding Student in Kinesiology as well as the Outstanding New All-Level Teacher.
LETOURNEAU
Caedmon Liebengood | Scripture and Theology | Men’s Basketball | Longview, Texas
Liebengood is a two-time All-ASC selection, earning second team honors as a senior in 2024-25. He was the 2023-24 LeTourneau Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and is a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection to go with three ASC Academic All-Conference honors. Liebengood is involved on campus as a chapel band worship leader and has led Student-Athlete Worship Nights at LeTourneau. He is also involved with music for his local church along with LeTourneau outreach programs.
Elizabeth Moreau | Business Accounting | Women’s Tennis | Nacogdoches, Texas
Moreau is graduating from LeTourneau after three years with her degree in business accounting. She is a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete selection. Moreau also garnered CSC Academic All-District last season. She has been a mainstay in the lineup since her freshman season, including tallying a career-high 13 singles wins last season.
MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR
James McGlumphy | Sports Management | Baseball | Round Rock, Texas
James McGlumphy graduated with a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. He was selected as the 2024-25 Sport Management Major of the Year. McGlumphy was a two-time All-ASC Second Team selection and three-time Academic All-ASC honoree. He earned CSC Academic All-District honors and was an ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete. McGlumphy has also earned Co-Freshman of the Year.
Avery Hill | B.B.A. Marketing | Women’s Golf | Keller, Texas
Avery Hill graduated with a degree in Business Marketing. She is a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar. Hill is also a four-time All-ASC selection with three first team honors. She is a three-time Academic All-ASC honoree and has earned ASC Co-Freshman of the Year. Hill led the Cru at the NCAA DIII Women’s Golf Championship Tournament this season, representing UMHB in the final two rounds as an individual.
UT DALLAS
Dylan Collins | Healthcare Studies | Baseball | Fairview, Texas
Dylan Collins is a 2024 All-ASC Honorable Mention and 2023-24 Academic All-ASC selection. He was also a 2024 CSC Academic All-District honoree and a 2024-25 Chi Alpha Sigma Inductee.
Collins led the Comets in strikeouts with 43 over nine starts in 2025. He went 5-1 with one complete game and two combined shutouts. Collins had a 4.02 ERA over 56 innings.
Sofia Trevino | Computer Science | Women’s Golf | The Woodlands, Texas
Sofia Trevino is a 2022-23 WGCA All-American Honorable Mention selection. She is also a three-time All-ASC First Team selection and a five-time ASC Golfer of the Week honoree. Trevino was the 2024 ASC Individual Medalist and a three-time ASC All-Tournament Team honoree. She is also a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and a 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar. Trevino is a three-time Academic All-ASC honoree and a 2024-25 Chi Alpha Sigma Inductee.
Trevino holds the school record with 150 career birdies. She has a career average of 77.25 shots per round and won two tournaments during career.
